INVITATION TO AUTHORS OF THE FLATHEAD

Join local writers at our monthly meetings. Hone your writing skills and become a published author. Meetings are the first three Thursday evenings from 7-9 pm each month at Flathead Valley Community College in Room 151 of Ross Hall (Science and Technology Building). If you enjoy the group, membership is only $25/year. We are finalizing plans for our annual conference on the 6th and 7th of October. Our keynote speaker this year is Mark Coker, Smashwords founder.

June 7th Dennis Foley will be speaking on Hardware/Software for Writers. He will demonstrate Dragon Naturally Speaking, voice recognition software and Scrivener writing software. Both are inexpensive powerful tools used by many members of the group.

June 4th is open reading. Bring a few pages of your writing to read aloud and share with other participants for critique of your work.

June 21st Guest Speaker Jim Williams, author of Death on the Wild Side-Not for the Feint of Heart will talk about his research and work as a puma specialist. He is Wildlife Program Manager for Fish, Wildlife and Parks in northwest Montana.
